12BET India: MS Dhoni and three more to return in IPL 2020 season

The former India captain, MS Dhoni is set to return to training with his IPL side Chennai Super Kings after being sidelined for a while, according to reports. Following India’s semi-final exit from the 2019 World Cup, Dhoni has not played International cricket and refuse to answer any questions about his plans MS Dhonion returning to the pitch.

“He is expected to arrive on March 1. He will probably train for a couple of weeks before going back for 4-5 days and then coming back once again closer to the start of the IPL,” reports claimed. If reports are true, this is the first time that MS Dhoni will enter the participation mode for the IPL almost a month ahead of the start of the tournament.

Former president of the BCCI and Chennai Super Kings owner N. Srinivasan recently confirmed in avent that Dhoni will be leading the Indian Premier League franchise in 2021 as well. “MS Dhoni will play this year. And next year he will be in the auction and he will be retained,” Srinivasan said.

The two-time World Cup-winning captain will end his exile as he leads Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against the reigning champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the opening game of IPL 2020. The 38-year-old Dhoni has previously retired from Test cricket, but his future in the limited overs formats remains uncertain as the skipper have not addressed the matter.

Along with Dhoni, CSK’s vice-captain, Raina will also make a comeback after recovering from a knee surgery that ruled him out of the limited-overs game in the 2019-20 season of the national side. Raina seems to be in a good condition after the surgery and he’s definitely going to be fit in the game. He has been seeing practicing at CSK’s camp recently. Raina hasn’t played international cricket since July 2018.

The former India batsman also urged the fans to fill the recently reopened MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai to support CSK home games. “We have all the seats available. Hopefully, we’ll have more fans now so that there is it will be more energy on the field,” the 33-year-old Raina said. He also expressed his excitement in playing a couple of new CSK recruits including Piyush, Hazelwood, Curran and more.

Meanwhile, veteran off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh will grace the cricket field once again for the first time since 2015-16 season after being choosing to be a full-time cricket commentator. Harbhajan is expected to retire in his career after this season as the upcoming season will mark an end to his three-year contract with CSK. Joining him is Varun Chakravarthy, the costliest buy in IPL 2019 auction

Chakravarthy hasn’t played any competitive game since IPL 2019 following a finger injury that forced him to take a break from cricket. Despite being out of sight in any competitive matches, he was able to attract bidders at the IPL 2020 auctions in Kolkata with Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore wanting him to join their squad.
