Australia’s cricket series against India is not in jeopardy once again after a coronavirus outbreak in Adelaide, where the first test is scheduled to be played next month. A spike in COVID-19 infection in the venue of the series-opener has prompted other states to close their borders with South Australia. The tour will consist of three T20Is, three ODIs and four Tests.

The four-match test series is scheduled to start with a day-night match in Adelaide on December 17, and continue in Melbourne from December 26 and in Sydney and Brisbane in January. Adelaide Strikers are slated to start their BBL season in a Hobart hub and may need to reschedule plans. Adelaide Oval was set to be at half capacity for the day-night Test, but that now appears unlikely.
