12BET India News: IPL broadcast in UK returns to Sky Sports after signing three-year deal

Fans and viewers in England and Ireland will be able to watch all 60 of the matches of the news of Indian Premier League (IPL) exclusively live on Sky Sports, as the UK pay-tv broadcasting giant reclaimed exclusive rights for the T20 cricket tournament, according to announcement.
Last year, Sky Sports was unable to reach an agreement with Star India, IPL’s global rights partner. BT sports took the rights and signed a non-exclusive one-season agreement to telecast the games in UK, one of cricket’s main markets.
Earlier this week, Sky Sports, which held IPL rights from 2015 to 2018, have signed a three-year deal as a part of Sky’s expansive 2020 cricket lineup that also includes England home international matches and overseas tours, International Cricket Council (ICC) events and domestic competitions.
“The VIVO IPL is a truly spectacular competition and one that grips you from start to finish. The tournament features the world’s best T20 players, all playing in-front of thousands of passionate fans across the India,” said Rob Webster, Sky Sports managing director.
Being the most watched and followed cricket tournament in the world, IPL is truly the biggest franchise T20 league in the world that holds massive popularity among cricket fans and viewers. A total of 12 English players will be involved in this new season, including Ben Stokes, Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler.
“Sky Sports’ cricket coverage – still trying to catch its breath from a stunning 2019 – goes from strength to strength for the year ahead. We’re thrilled to add the VIVO IPL to an already busy cricketing calendar for 2020 joining events such as the ICC Men’s and Women’s T20 World Cup’s from Australia,” he added.
Mumbai Indians will try to defend the title they won for four straight seasons. The undisputed franchise led by Captain Rohit Sharma is gearing up for the title defense with the help of few other players they just roped, including Chris Lyn and Trent Boult.
