12BET India News: Pakistan Super League to restart its remaining matches in November

Earlier this week, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the restart of the 2020 season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which were which were postponed in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. The four remaining matches will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on November 14, 15 and 17, with only the Qualifier and Eliminator 1 to be a double-header.
The dates have been finalised following consultations and discussions with the four playing sides – Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi. “It was important that we produced these protocols so that our elite players can prepare for the upcoming season in the best possible and safest environment,” said Nadeem Khan, the NHPC’s director.
The Qualifier between the top two teams from the league stage, the Multan Sultans and the Karachi Kings, will take place on November 14, along with the first Eliminator between the third and fourth placed Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi. The second Eliminator, between the losing team of the Qualifier and the winner of the first Eliminator, will take place on November 15, and the final on 17.
“The hosting of the remaining four HBL Pakistan Super League 2020 matches also endorses Pakistan’s resilience in overcoming difficulties and challenges no matter what the nature. PCB is planning to hold its 2020-21 domestic season, which will include a number of age-group, men and women competitions, as well as home international series against Zimbabwe and South Africa,” Khan added.

The matches will be played under strict health protocols, including bio-secure bubble for the players, match officials and event-related staff. The matches are currently planned to be held behind closed doors, subject to review in October. Apart from the final leg of the PSL, the PCB is also looking to conduct the 2020-21 domestic season, and host two international teams.
The announcement came shortly following the win of Pakistan in the three-match Test and T20 series in England. The window for the competition means it will be played between the end of the IPL in the UAE on November 10, and before the start of the Abu Dhabi T10, scheduled for November 19.
