India will be looking to continue from where they left off in the first victory and seal the series as they lock horns with the West Indies on Thursday. On the other hand, the boys from the Caribbean will be looking to massively improve from the disappointing performance they put in on Saturday. The home side played some brilliant cricket and will want to produce more of the same.
After starting 2022 with three straight ODI losses in a whitewash against the Proteas, the Indians will be relieved to finally get a win under their belt. The manner in which they got it should be a sign of things to come. It was a complete team performance in the first ODI with each and every member of the team contributing. The players will want to continue performing at the same level and showcase more brilliant live cricket.
They will be hoping to continue in the same vein on Wednesday as well. With key players like KL Rahul being available for the next game, it could be a problem of plenty for the Indian management
The boys from the Caribbean looked jaded and it showed in their performance in the first match. But with a couple of days to acclimatize to the conditions, they should be in a much better frame to compete against the Indians this time around. With the likes of Pooran, Holder, Hope and captain Pollard himself, the Windies have more than enough firepower to pose tough questions to their opponents
India holds the advantage in this head-to-head, winning eight out of the last 12 ODIs, with the Windies winning two and the other two ending in ties.
India looks to be the favourites to win the match as well as the series in the next game but discount the Windies at your own peril.
