Multan Sultans will face off against Peshawar Zalmi in the final of the Pakistan Super League. Both teams have fought hard to reach this point in the tournament. Multan Sultans have had an impressive campaign in the UAE leg of PSL 2021. After making many changes in the squad, they seem to be getting their combinations right and are playing some great live cricket. With Shan Masood, skipper Mohammad Rizwan and Sohaib Maqsood at the top to the likes of Riley Rossouw and Hetmyer in the middle, they can be a dangerous batting unit. Multan defeated Islamabad United in the first playoff game to become the first team to qualify for the PSL final 2021. Riding on a foundation laid by Maqsood (59), Jonathan Charles (41 off 21) and Khushdil Shah (42 off 22) put up a 180-run total before bowling Islamabad for 149. Sohail Tanvir’s (3/17) venomous spell was backed by Imran Tahir and Blessing Muzarabani.

Peshawar Zalmi tossed Islamabad United away in the Eliminator 2 to seal a spot in the final. Their confidence must be on cloud nine. Hazratullah Zazai (66 off 44) and Jonathan Wells (55 off 43) kept the innings on track for the most part of the game and then T20 veteran Shoaib Malik walked in to play a no mercy innings – 32 runs in 10 balls – to seal the match. Peshawar chased 175 runs with eight wickets and 19 balls to spare. Earlier, economic spells by Mohammad Irfan and Amad Butt prevented Islamabad to take a 200+ route.

Zalmi have qualified for their fourth final of the PSL and will be eyeing their second title on Thursday.
