It’s the battle of the struggling Kings as Punjab faces off against Chennai. This will be a battle for survival and a battle to stay afloat in the race for the playoffs. With both teams struggling for form and having bouts of inconsistency, this is shaping to be a battle between two sides who really cannot make any more mistakes in their quest for the playoffs. The Punjab kings have once again slipped into a rut of their own making. They will have to massively step up their game, starting from the skipper, who has been in a lean run of form. Chennai Super Kings
The yellow brigade just about managed to win by the skin of their teeth courtesy of some vintage finishing from MS Dhoni, but cracks still remain in that side that has failed to reach the heights of last season. They have been poor in all departments and their core has been very unreliable to bail them out of pressure situations. Add to that the relative inexperience of the bowlers, it has shaped up into a very long season of mediocrity for the 4-time and current defending champs.

With two sides tottering around the lower half of the table, it will be a case of the side who makes the lesser errors to win the game. With that being said, expect Punjab to be slight favourites in this fixture.
