Rajasthan Royals will be looking to seal their birth into the playoffs when they face the Delhi Capitals, who themselves are in a must-win position. The team from the capital will be looking to win as well, after a good IPL 2021 tournament but a mixed bag this season. With a lot at stake for both sides, it will be interesting to see what will be the plan both sides will be using to approach this game.

After two losses, the Royals got back to winning ways, chasing a potentially tricky score against the Punjab Kings. the fact that they did it in spite of Buttler not firing will be a great cause of joy, with young gun Yashasvi Jaiswal getting into the runs with a well-made half-ton.

There are still questions about Padikkal’s form, with the southpaw genuinely struggling to get runs, which has been piling on the pressure on the rest of the batsmen. With Hetmyer absent from the side due to personal reasons, the royals will have to find a finisher that can do the job for them. With only one win needed, they would like to get it done as quickly as possible, without any hassles.

Delhi Capitals

The Capitals got absolutely battered by the Chennai Super Kings. They were outplayed in virtually all departments, succumbing to a defeat that massively dents their NRR, which could be a very crucial component in their quest for qualification. They will hope that they do not play the same way that they did against Chennai, and that they stop the rot.

They have been so inconsistent that they have not won two games in a row the entire tournament so far, and that has hurt them in their season so far. They will be desperate to put in a performance with the bat and rely on the skill of Kuldeep and Khaleel with the ball.

Head-to-Head

RR just about leads the head-to-head between the two sides 13-12. However, since 2019, DC has 6 wins in 9 games, getting the better of RR. Earlier in the season when the sides clashed, RR beat DC by 15 runs.

The Royals will fancy their chances in the clash, riding on the momentum from their previous win, as opposed to the thrashing DC received at the hands of CSK, and will definitely be clear favorites at the start of this match
