Rajasthan Royals will face off against Punjab Kings in the 32nd match of the Indian Premier League. The teams from the bottom half of the points table will face off against each other. It will be a great game in the IPL 2021 tournament. The team that wins could boost their chances of pushing for a top-four finish.
Rajasthan Royals get into the UAE leg of the IPL without Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler or Jofra Archer. However, the likes of Liam Livingston and Evin Lewis are expected to start for the 2008 champions. Livingston was in fine form during The Hundred. Lewis brings a lot of firepower on the table. Along with the two, Rajasthan would also want Chris Morris’ all-round services to be a part of the playing. For the fourth slot, Portea middle order batsman David Miller and the world’s No 1 T20 spinner Tabraiz Shamsi will put up a fight. They will be expected to play some brilliant live cricket.
Their bowling mainly depends on what Jaydev Unadkat, Shreyas Gopal and Kartik Tyagi bring to the table. All eyes will be on skipper Sanju Samson as he places his best foot to qualify for the play-offs.
RR squad: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (c), Jos Buttler, Manan Vohra, David Miller, Anuj Rawat, Chris Morris, Mahipal Lomror, Rahul Tewatia, Riyan Parag, Shivam Dube, Akash Singh, Chetan Sakariya, Jaydev Unadkat, Kartik Tyagi, KC Cariappa, Kuldip Yadav, Mayank Markande, Mustafizur Rahman, Shreyas Gopal, Gerald Coetzee
KL Rahul has a star-studded lineup supporting him this IPL. Starting with their captain’s class and Mayank Agarwal’s strokeplay, the Punjab Kings have Universe Boss Chris Gayle and Mohammed Shami to work magic for them. Shami is expected to be partnered by either Chris Jordan or Nathan Ellis
Their middle-order is made of Nicholas Pooran and Shahrukh Khan. Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi and Murugan Ashwin make a decent Indian bowling attack.
PBKS squad: KL Rahul (c), Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, Mandeep Singh, Prabhsimran Singh, Nicholas Pooran, Sarfaraz Khan, Dawid Malan, Shahrukh Khan, Deepak Hooda, Moises Henriques, Jalaj Saxena, Saurabh Kumar, Fabian Allen, Murugan Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, Harpreet Brar, Utkarsh Singh, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ishan Porel, Darshan Nalkande, Chris Jordan, Riley Meredith, Jhye Richardson
Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings have faced each other 22 times in the IPL. Rajasthan have won 12 matches while Punjab have won on ten occasions.
Two young captains will get into the match to prove their mettle. While Rahul, guided by coach Anil Kumble, had a much better side after the auction, most of their foreign stars opted out of the UAE leg. On the other hand, Rajasthan lost some key players too. However, Punjab Kings look like the better team should win.
