Sri Lanka will face off against West Indies in the first ODI match of their tour of the West Indies. After being dominated by the home side in the T20 series, the visitors will want to leave their mark now. It could be the start of the rise of Sri Lankan cricket if they can really perform, with some positive cricket news coming their way. However, it will not be easy at all against an in-form West Indies side.

The hosts come after establishing their dominance in the T20 series. They will want to play some great live cricket now. While they emerged victorious only by a fine margin, Kieron Pollard will want his side to continue the rich vein and finish the series on a high. Angelo Mathews, Niroshan Dickwella and Dinesh Chandimal will have to carry the weight of the batting order, Karuraratne playing his part at the top.

Even considering the fact that the Sri Lankans will fancy their slow bowlers to exploit the conditions, but West Indies still get into the game as favorites. It’s the home advantage, Pollard’s men will bank on to start the series with a ‘bang’.
