Australia vs. South Africa Third Test: Cricket Betting Preview

Australia vs. South Africa 3rd Test

The third and final test between Australia and South Africa, starting later today at Adelaide Oval, was supposed to be a grand event. Not only it is day night test, but it was a potential series decider too. As things turned out, South Africa comfortably won the first two tests to take the series. Australia is in danger of not just losing a cricket series, but even their position and legacy in international cricket. The third test will see the Aussies’ fight for upholding their proud history. They are experimenting with a new-look side. As for cricket betting, there is no time for experiments. South Africa will start as firm favourites.

Preview – Australia

The series loss has put an end to some of the Australian players’ careers, it seems. The selectors have made wholesale changes to the team. Three new young batsmen have been included in the squad: Matt Renshaw, Peter Handscomb and Nic Maddinson. All three are likely to make their debut. Jackson Bird is back in the squad. Matthew Wade is coming in as the wicket keeper. Bird will certainly make the bowling more menacing. As for the new batsmen, it will be tough for them to face the in-form South African bowling attack. Adelaide Oval is a good pitch to bat on, especially in the first innings. Perhaps they will all have the beginners’ luck against Rabada and company.

Preview – South Africa

Everything points to wager in favour of South Africa in cricket betting. The only problem South Africa faced on the eve of this match is the ball-tampering allegation against their skipper Faf du Plessis. Now the issue seems to have settled. They are likely to retain the eleven, even though there may be a temptation to include an extra spinner, given the spin-friendly reputation of Adelaide Oval and the popular notion about day-night pink-ball cricket that spinners are harder to pick. South Africa’s pace attack is the best going around at the moment. If they can retain the momentum, a white wash is on the cards.
