One of Badminton’s most prestigious events, the BWF World Badminton Championship, will start at Emirates Arena in Glasgow on August 21. Almost all the top players in the women’s and men’s section take part in the event. Each section will have 64 players. Plus there will be Men’s doubles, Women’s doubles and Mixed doubles. You would not get a better opportunity to involve in online betting in badminton than now.

The Tournament

This is the 29th edition of the World Badminton Championship. All the top male players will be in action here: Usual suspects like Lin Dan, Lee Chong Wei, Son Wan Ho, and Chen Long, and the Indian dark horse Kidambi Srikanth are among the favorites.
The top-ranked player in Women’s badminton, Tai Tzu Ying, will not attend this tournament. However, there is a galaxy of stars to make up for that. Carolina Marin, Akane Yamaguchi, and Nozomi Okuhara will provide a strong challenge to each other. So will the Indian title hopefuls PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal.
The semi finals will be played on August 26, and the finals will be played on August 27. On whom are you going to place your online betting money?

Favorites

Lin Dan must the overwhelming favorite in the men’s section. This could be his last World Championship. So, he will be extra motivated to leave with a win. However, Lee Chong Wei – Dan’s most persistent rival – is also approaching the twilight of his career. The Malaysian is in good form of late as well. Son Wan Ho too can be a force to reckon with, provided the South Korean gets out of his tendency to freeze in big tournaments. The real player to watch out for will be Chen Long. The Chinese youngster, known as Junior Lin Dan, is young and mightily talented. Kidambi Srikanth will be a long shot for online betting in Men’s section.

The Women’s section is more open in the absence of a ferociously strong player like Lin Dan. Carolina Marin will be eager to get out of her recent lean patch. If she strikes her best form, she will be the strongest bet. Akane Yamaguchi and Nozomi Okuhara – if they can show the X-factor needed to win big tournaments – too will be in contention. Saina Nehwal has not won a big tournament for quite some time now. That leaves PV Sindhu as the likeliest Indian player to win the title.

Our Prediction : In the Men’ section, Dan could suffer the fate on Usain Bolt in London and get our cheaply. It could be a battle between Lee Chong Wei and Chen Long, in which the latter could emerge victorious. In the Women’s section, it could be a Marin vs Sindhu final. Expect Marin to come on top.
