Big news regarding the fate of the Asia Cup 2021 And T20 World Cup 2021

Speculations are afloat that India will not be taking part in Asia Cup 2021. Sri Lanka is set to host the tournament according to the Future Tours Programme (FTP) in June 2021. India will not take part in the tournament if they manage to qualify for the finals for the inaugural edition of the ICC World Test Championship against New Zealand in June 2021 at Lord’s Cricket Ground in England. Betting in India will be in full flow if the Men In Blue makes it to this final.

This could mean that Virat Kohli and co. will be quite busy throughout the year. Already this is a year which has a lot of events coming up. The early edition of the IPL (IPL rank 2021), after the IPL 2020 could see more tiring cricket. Another potential final could mean that Team India keeps playing cricket right through the year.

The main story and update going around about the Asia Cup 2021 and the T20 World Cup 2021

If India does not participate in the Asia Cup, then it will be a huge loss for the broadcasters and other cricket boards. Thus there are reports that Asia Cup may be postponed. The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ehsan Mani has stated that the authorities have decided to postpone the Asia Cup 2021 till 2023, if India is through to the finals of the ICC World Test Championship in June 2021.

The PCB chairman addressed a press conference on Sunday, February 28 in Karachi and he revealed this during the press conference. He even stated that the PCB has written an official letter to the ICC regarding the issuing of Visas for the Pakistan players from India.

The ICC will host the T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE if the BCCI fail to provide Pakistan with visa assurance

The ICC World T20 2021 is scheduled in the month of October and November in India. The PCB wants that the BCCI gives them a written assurance to provide all the Pakistan players with the visas to take part in the T20 World Cup. Mani stated that if India fails to provide Pakistan with the assurance, then ICC has already decided to host the full World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). They will likely take a concrete decision regarding the matter by March 31, 2021.

The PCB official further stated that the BCCI have some other problems besides the visa issue. They have to solve the problems related to COVID-19 cases and tax exemption issues with the ICC for hosting the T20 World Cup. Earlier, BCCI officials stated that the visas won’t be a problem in a global event like the World Cup. They have also said that the BCCI is ready to bear the cost if the Indian government doesn’t provide any leverage on tax.

Could this change the whole complexion of the tournament if this happens and can even impact the IPL?

If the T20 World Cup 2021 is moved away from India, things could really change. A lot of top international players are keen to play in the IPL this year, due to the upcoming T20 World Cup. After the postponement of the tournament last year, this will be a crucial one. The fans and the player know this and even some of the boards have allowed their players to do things differently this term.

The restrictions this year have been rather lenient and this will make the players happy. Already, India is playing a Test series against England, followed by the ODI and T20 series.

What about the current series between India and England and what next for the players involved in the IPL?

The Three Lions will also be keen to perform well in the Indian sub-continent. They will want to focus on the shorter format this time around, rather than the Tests.
