CPL T20 Match Preview: Jamaica Tallawahs vs Barbados Tridents

The Caribbean Premier League has entered into its last quarter and it’s almost time up for the teams struggling to get going. We have seen some great cricket already and some of them have already sealed their semifinal spots. Others are still jostling to get a look in at the last minute. In the upcoming matchup, the Jamaica Tallawahs will go up against Barbados Tridents as both sides will look to book a slot in the semifinals. Both the sides are struggling for form and therefore it will be a very crucial tie in terms of deciding the semifinalists.
Jamaica Tallawahs
Despite having a great team the Tallawahs have not stood out like they would have at the start of the season. The recently lost against the Knight Riders as they fell short on 19 runs chasing a mammoth total of 184. Andre Russell and Carlos Brathwaite kept them in the game but it was too far-fetched even for Dre Russ to take over the line.
However, before this game, the Tallawahs will face the out of form Patriots and a win there will boost their morale for this game. But captain Rovman Powell and his bowlers have to step up otherwise it will be difficult for the Tallawahs.

Barbados Tridents
The Tridents are in deep trouble, in the previous encounter they batted first and could only muster a total of 92 in 20 overs against the Warriors. Batsmen like Johnson Charles, Kevin Mayers, Shai Hope and even captain Jason Holder struggled to make a mark.
The paltry total was chased down by the Warriors in 16.4 overs and they lost only two wickets. It was very difficult for the bowlers to defend such a low total against a team which has players like Shimron Hetmyer, Ross Taylor and Nicholas Pooran. Therefore an overall improvement is needed and captain Jason Holder should shoulder the responsibility of leading from the front. Although the Tridents will go up against the Warriors first before playing this match.
Head to head
Both the sides have faced each other 15 times in total in CPL history. The Tallawahs reign supreme but only just with 8 wins while the Tridents have only won 6 matches with one game ending in no result.
