12BET Predictions BBL 2020-21 Match 40: Melbourne Stars VS Adelaide Strikers

Melbourne Stars will lock horns against the Adelaide Strikers in match number 40 of the Big Bash League season 2020-21. The two sides will want to win this match, as they look to play some good cricket.
Melbourne Stars
Melbourne Stars’ poor show in this season of the BBL continued as they lost their last match against the Adelaide Strikers. The Stars have managed to win just one match in their last six matches which have produced a result. Marcus Stoinis scored 47 runs off 31 balls and Nic Maddinson supported him with an unbeaten 48. Nicholas Pooran returned back home just before that match. So, their batting line up did not look that much threatening in the last match and they could just end up with a score of 150 runs to win. Haris Rauf failed again failed to show up as he picked up just one wicket by giving away thirty-three runs in his quota of three overs. Hence, the Adelaide Strikers chased down the total with one over to spare.
Adelaide Strikers
Adelaide Strikers made a strong comeback in their last match after a loss against the Melbourne Renegades. Their bowlers performed extremely well and set up the win against the Melbourne Stars. Daniel Worrall, Wes Agar and Rashid Khan, all three took two wickets each. Hence they were able to restrict the Stars to 149/7. However, in that match, Rashid Khan made his final appearance in this season of BBL as he will return back to carry out international duty for Afghanistan. Rashid Khan is the World’s No. 1 T20 bowler and has been a dominant force for the Adelaide Strikers. They will surely miss his presence but they do have enough firepower in their team which was on show during the successful run chase against the Melbourne Stars.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
The Melbourne Stars and the Adelaide Strikers locked horns against each other 13 times. Melbourne Stars won three encounters while the Strikers won ten.
PREDICTION:
Melbourne Stars looked like the team to beat at the start of the season. However, now they are even struggling to get to the finals after some consistent disappointing results. Some of their big stars are not able to show up with their performance and now with Nicholas Pooran gone, they have some more problems to sort out. This will put an extra bit of pressure on both Glenn Maxwell and Haris Rauf. Rauf has still not come to terms in this season after his late arrival. Adelaide Strikers also have some things to ponder after the departure of Rashid Khan. However, their batting is showing up and Wes Agar challenging for the Golden Arm with 17 wickets so far. So, the Strikers are in a better position to win this match and register back to back wins
