12BET Predictions: Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Delhi Capitals, IPL 2022
Kolkata Knight Riders play Delhi Capitals in a battle that sees Shreyas Iyer play against his former employers. Iyer previously led the Capitals to their maiden IPL final in 2020, but missed most of the IPL 2021 tournament due to an injury. This did not help his cause, with the team from the capital replacing him as the skipper.
He now finds himself leading the Kolkata Knight Riders to a very strong start, as the team is playing some great live cricket. After a win in their first game, the Capitals have slipped below their lofty standards and will be hoping to turn their fortunes around in a game that pits some of the world’s best power-hitters against each other.
Kolkata Knight Riders
The Knights have already galloped all the way to the top of the table on the back of some really flamboyant cricket that exactly mirrors the philosophy of their coach Brendon Mccullum. They easily defeated the Mumbai Indians on the back of one of the most brutal displays of batting ever seen in the IPL by the returning Pat Cummins. The arrival of Cummins has added a whole new dimension to the team dynamic of the Knights. With his return adding a much-needed impetus with the ball, his ability with the bat has added another new level to this Knights team who suddenly seem to have all the bases covered and currently look like the team to beat.
The Capitals seem to be drifting apart from the contenders after a series of poor all-around performances seen them lose 2 straight games. The arrival of David Warner did not have the impact that was expected and apart from Prithvi Shaw, almost all the batsmen have struggled for rhythm, including Rishabh Pant, who is not able to time the ball properly. While the bowling has often flattered to deceive, with only Kuldeep Yadav bowling with any sort of rhythm or intent. The Capitals will have to get their act together very soon or they risk drifting further away from the pack.
In the 29 matches they have faced against each other, the Knights have a slender edge against the Capitals, winning 16 out of the 29 matches, with the Capitals winning 12 and one with no result.
With both sides having contrasting fortunes, Kolkata will definitely fancy their chances of toppling the Capitals, with Shreyas Iyer eager to show their former employers what they have been missing. While Delhi does have the firepower to cause damage, this game comes a little too early for them. Kolkata to get the 2 points.
