West Indies vs England 1st Test Edgbaston- Cricket Betting Preview

England will be facing West Indies in the inaugural test at Edgbaston on August 17. England will have to confront the challenges that come with using the pink ball, tomorrow. Few England players have any experience with the ball, and it will be interesting to see how the team will cope up with the challenge. The upcoming game will be cricket’s fifth day-night test, but the first played with a Dukes ball, the make traditionally used in England. Of the four tests that were played before, three were in Australia and one in Dubai, where the West Indies were defeated by Pakistan.

England will be the overwhelming favourites for cricket betting on this test.

England – Preview

England will be going to Edgbaston tomorrow, riding on high hopes after beating South Africa 3-1 in their first series of the summer. Stuart Broad says “We are just going to have to be so adaptable on the day and figure out what’s going on.” He says he is “excited” by the concept of the format, with teams wearing traditional white clothing but using a pink Dukes ball. Broad, however, insisted: “We’ve got a huge amount of respect for the way the West Indies play and the competitive spirit they bring”. “And with a slightly inexperienced team, you know they are going to be very hungry for success”. The Edgbaston Test will see 30 year old rookie Mark Stoneman become Alastair Cook’s 12th England opening partner in the five years since Andrew Strauss retired. It will be interesting to see how he will utilize his potential tomorrow.

West Indies – Preview

West Indies are going into the test series after a six consecutive Test series losing streak, with their last win coming back in 2014 against Bangladesh. West Indies is currently ranked eighth in the test rankings table, and the former West Indies seamer and legend of the game Curtley Ambrose believes that the team will have to bring their top game to face the mighty English side. The on-going issues surrounding the West Indies Cricket Board and the players will see absences of the veteran and crucial players like Chris Gayle, Darren Bravo, Darren Sammy and Marlon Samuels from the team.
