Delhi Capitals qualified for the playoffs following their 16-run victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2019 at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.
The win puts them in the playoffs for the first time since 2012. Thanks to the outstanding performance from Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer.
Credit as well to a good finishing job from Sherfane Rutherford and Axar Patel, including a clinical bowling production led by Amit Mishra and Kagiso Rabada.
On the other end, the defeat by RCB spells the end of their chances of completing a fairy tale late-season charge for the top four spots. Meaning, they are out of the tournament after suffering eight defeats of the season.
