IPL 2020 Match-6 Preview: Kings XI Punjab vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

We are well and truly set in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League, IPL 2020. The audiences have witnessed a lot of action in the first few days. They have also seen most of the teams playing their first games now. Therefore, it will be a battle of two teams with contrasting starts, one started strongly with a win, while the other team lost from the jaws of victory. It is a matchup between the Kings XI Punjab and the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Both sides will be looking to win for different reasons but momentum is key in this tournament. It will be a key fixture to decide their fate.
Kings XI Punjab
An opening fixture defeat against the Delhi Capitals may have shattered their morale but there were plenty of positives from the game for KL Rahul and his men. They were almost on the line of victory and they failed to cross the line, it was that close. Mayank Agarwal who was exceptional against Delhi needs to carry forward his form in the coming matches. While the others like Nicholas Pooran, Glen Maxwell need to step up to the occasion.
Even the bowling contingent, especially Chris Jordan looked out of ideas in the last over as Stoinis tonked him all over the park. Young leggie Ravi Bishnoi bowled really well and was their shining. Even Mohammad Shami bowled with a lot of aggression and they need to keep going for Punjab in the upcoming matches
It is too early but Punjab may look for an alternative for Chris Jordan who struggled at the death which is something he is known for. Therefore someone like Jimmy Neesham who can contribute with both bat and ball can be included from the next game.
Expected Lineup: KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Nicholas Pooran, Karun Nair, Glenn Maxwell, Sarfraz Khan, Jimmy Neesham, Krisnappa Gowtham, Sheldon Cottrell, Mohammad Shami, Ravi Bishnoi.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
It was a very positive start from the Royal Challengers as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad. Their bowling is often criticized for leaking runs and not being able to defend scores but this time their bowling has stepped up and shown their calibre. The likes of Yuzvendra Chahal, Navdeep Saini and Shivam Dube with the ball were brilliant on the night.
While it was a sensational debut for Devdutt Padikkal who gave Bangalore a very fiery start in the power-play which was carried forward by AB de Villiers later on. So it was a good collective effort from the team in which Kohli himself will like to join the party with his willow very soon.
There aren’t many problems with the lineup and you often don’t change winning combinations in this tournament.
Expected Lineup: Devdutt Padikkal, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Joshua Philippe, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Dale Steyn, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Yuzvendra Chahal.
