Matthew Hayden to be part of the Pakistan Cricket Team as a mentor in the upcoming ICC World T20 2022

Matthew Hayden has been appointed by Pakistan to serve as a member of the support staff at the Twenty20 World Cup, just as he was the year before. The former Australian opener served in the same capacity for the squad the year before and will do so once again when they welcome him back as a team mentor. During the Twenty20 World Cup, the 50-year-old will serve as the team mentor and collaborate with others, including head coach Saqlain Mushtaq.
On October 15th, the two-time World Cup champion is due to meet up with the rest of the Men in Green in Brisbane. Following the conclusion of the tri-series in New Zealand, in which the home country will compete against Bangladesh, he will join the team.
Given that the event is going to take place in Australia, Hayden’s contribution might be a significant one in determining whether or not Pakistan is victorious in the competition. In the most recent edition of the Twenty20 World Cup, Pakistan made it to the semifinals of the competition, where they were eliminated by Australia. With the squad in such good shape this year, they will be gunning for a repeat victory in the Twenty20 World Cup.
The Pakistan cricket squad will go to Australia brimming with confidence after putting up a show of great cricket during the Asia Cup. Even though the final match versus Sri Lanka has not yet been played, Pakistan has shown that they have sufficient depth in both the batting and bowling facets of the game. This will aid the Men in Green in Australia in the long run since the situations they face will become less frequent for them to experience.
Hayden, who is quite familiar with the climate and terrain of Australia, is certain that the squad will be able to do well in Australia given their capabilities. In addition to that, he discussed the honor it was for him to be a member of the Pakistan team management for the ICC World T20 2022.
“I am with the Pakistan squad as their mentor for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia and can’t wait to join the culture again and experience the spirit of One Nation One Passion,” the Australian icon said.
