Waqar Younis Heaps Praise On Pakistan Captain Babar Azam And Calls Him As Good As Any Of The Other Greats

Former Pakistan pacer Waqar Younis has said that Pakistan captain Babar Azam looks like a “million dollars” in modern cricket and is as good as all the big names in the game. The former fast bowler also thinks Pakistan has a good chance of doing well at the T20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia next year.
Younis thinks the wickets in Australia are good for batting and that Pakistani batters could do well there. He also said that Babar and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan could be the keys to the team’s success in the top order. He also thought that Pakistan’s bowling line-up was one of the best in the world.
Waqar told ICC Digital in Melbourne, “We have a really good chance of doing well at this World Cup. The pitches in Australia are generally very good for batting, and Pakistan has good batters who can really play well in these conditions,” he said.
Babar is still young, and he has a lot of cricket to play: Waqar Younis
The former captain of Pakistan said, “Babar will definitely be the most important batter at the top of the order. I think (Babar) will have the same effect he always has, and Rizwan is also playing very well, and their bowling attack is one of the best in the world,” he said.
Younis said that in the last year or so, Pakistan has tried six or seven different fast bowlers. He thinks Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi will be “key,” and he pointed out that Hasan Ali has been “decent.” “Pakistan has a very good fast bowling attack, and they can mix things up with Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz, who are both good spinners,” said Younis.
“Babar Azam looks like a million bucks in modern cricket, and he is just as good as all the big names. But each of these greats had their own strengths and styles, and they all played at different times, which is something we shouldn’t forget,” said Younis. In the ICC Rankings for Batting, Babar is currently ranked fourth in Tests and first in ODIs and T20Is.
