Cristiano Ronaldo misses second pre-Clasico training

Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo failed to participate his club’s training on Wednesday which triggers speculations that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner could possibly miss out on Saturday’s La Liga Clasico against long-time rivals Barcelona (standby for the most competitive betting odds).
In a statement released, “Cristiano Ronaldo worked separately from the group, while Luca [Modric] also trained alone out on the pitch as he continues his recovery process.”
During the post match in Abu Dhabi, Ronaldo already admitted of feeling pain in his calf after a crunching foul by Gremio captain Geromel early in that game, but said he was sure he would recover in time for the weekend’s huge clash at the Bernabeu.
“I felt an issue in my calf in the second half, but I kept playing,” he said after the match. “For sure on Saturday I will be fine.”
The star player did not take part in the team’s first session of the week on Tuesday at Valdebebas, and was again an absentee the next day.
Meanwhile, manage Zinedine ZIdane’s reigning champions go into the fixture 11 points behind the current frontrunners, Barca.
