Cristiano Ronaldo Proclaimed as the World’s Best Player by Fifa

12BET (Sports News) Cristiano Ronaldo once again outclassed Lionel Messi by bagging away the trophy of the best football player in the world which took place in Zurich last night.
It’s not just the Barca star whom he outshined as he also beat Atletico Madrid Antoine Griezmann on the said prize.
This season was indeed a spectacular one for the 31-years old forward as he also won the Ballon d’Or award last December. Hard work pay-off as he continuously does his impressive stunt on both Real Madrid and Portugal. His doing a job well done on both domestic and international competitions, as he is unstoppable in contributing points.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo’s counter-part is Carli Lloyd of the United States – she was named as the best female player of the year.
Leicester’s manager Claudio Ranieri owned the title of best men’s coach, and ex-Germany’s boss Silvia Neid won the female coach award. On the other hand, Penang’s Mohd Faiz Subri received the Puskas award for the best goal of 2016.
2016 was a year for Ronaldo, hat tricks were made as he tries to raise his club’s name in the tournaments that they are into. He has something now that Messi does not have, and that’s the honour of being named best Fifa men’s player.
His remarkable statistic has made him the favorite to win the title.
“It was my best year so far, the trophy for Portugal was amazing. I was so happy and of course I cannot forget the Champions League and the Club World Cup. We ended the year in the best way. I’m so glad to win a lot of trophies, collective and individual. I’m so, so proud.”
Rumours start to spread as both Ronaldo and Messi didn’t vote for each other, and that’s a habit that they’ve been doing before. They prefer to fill the top three with their teammates’ name on it. The Portuguese forward voted for Bale, Modric and Sergio, while the Argentine writes down Luis Suarez, Neymar and Iniesta on the list.
A majority of the awards are given to both Real Madrid and Barcelona, which is somehow disappointing for the clubs from Premier League.
