The Belgian FA confirmed that team captain Eden Hazard sustained fracture on his right ankle while training at the National Football Centre in Tubize.
With the incurred injury blow, Hazard will be ruled out in the friendly against the Czeck republic that’s set on Monday and the World Cup Qualifiers in Estonia on the 9th of June.
The 26-year-old footballer’s scan revealed a serious injury which puts him to be sidelined for approximately six to eight weeks.
It’s a race against time as Hazard’s recovery period would affect the pre-season preparations with his international team, Chelsea.
The Belgian midfielder played an instrumental role as the Foxes won the Premier League last season, scoring 16 goals in 36 games.
However, rumor has it that Hazard is currently being liked with a move to Real Madrid despite the fact that he still has three years to run on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
