Chelsea need to close Premier League gap with United before City

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte pointed that his squad needs to focus on taking the second spot away from Manchester United before crawling into the first.
Currently, front runners Manchester City have 37 points, United have 32, and the reigning Premier League champions have 26.
The brilliant form of City has led Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino to declare his team out of the domestic league title race already.
This could probably happen to Conte as well. But the Blues manager refuses to say the same. He insisted that United should be his team’s immediate target over the frantic festive fixture schedule.
“We have to look at ourselves and not the others,” Conte said who was clearly unwilling to give up the title race. “Now our target must be to see the team that is before us. In this case Manchester United. Our first target is to catch them up and if we are able to do this, then we can see the team who is staying before us.
“This must be our mentality and in every game we have to try to win and do our best. This must be the right mentality, winning mentality.”
