Ever Banega returns to Sevilla FC from FC Inter Milan
Sevilla confirmed Ever Banega’s return into the club after only one season with Inter Milan. The Argentina international has formerly moved to Inter during a free transfer last summer.
Banega has now agreed to a three-year deal in Spain that was said to worth €9 million, although the signing is yet to be official due to a pending medical.
The 28-year-old made 20 Serie A appearances having scored six goals and six assists. On the other hand, Banega, during his first spell with Sevilla scored eight goals and five assists out of 43 La Liga appearances. He also helped the Spanish side to win the Europa League in both 2015 and 2016.
With the move, this means that the midfielder is highly unlikely to transfer to Paris Saint-Germain under Unai Emery, who was reportedly keen to be reunited with Banega after their time together at Sevilla.
In the days ahead, the Argentinian is expected to help improve Sevilla after finishing fourth in La Liga last season.
Also, he will become Eduardo Berizzo’s first major signing since he took over the managerial role of Jorge Sampaoli who departed earlier in June.
