Jose Mourinho is not one to let worthy players depart from his Manchester United coaching club. Matter of fact, goal keeper Sergio Romero has signed a new four-year contract with an option to extend for another year.
Romero whose contact is supposedly to expire next summer has helped his side to win the Europa League last term. He played majority of the matches including a clean sheet in the final against Ajax in May.
“I am delighted to have signed a new contract. Who wouldn’t want to be at the biggest club in the world?
“We have great goalkeepers here and we are always learning from each other. Of course, it was a very proud moment for me and my family to be part of the Europa League final, and I am looking forward to helping the team build on the last season’s success in 2017/18.”
The Argentina international was formerly under Louise van Gaal in the same club and has unfailingly impressed Mou, leading him to still be in ties with United.
United boss in a statement, “Sergio deserves his contract, and for Manchester United to have Sergio and David is amazing in such an important role.”
