Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. kicked off their first Premier League game in defeat as they host Manchester City F.C. at Falmer Stadium.

Man City boss Pep Guardiola’s side started their new season off in style with a comfortable 2-0 win.

As it is expected, the power house of the Premier League Manchester City dominated the game with Sergio Aguero’s goal in the 70th minute of the second half.

Five minutes later, Lewis Dunk scored a goal to seal the victory for the Sky Blues.

Boss Guardiola was relieved to see his side overcome Brighton, who has secured their spot to return again to the Premier League after 34-years of absence.

“The first game is always complicated, in my experience, even with Barcelona – especially against a promoted side when they have the passion and are under no pressure at all. We saw what happened to Liverpool and Chelsea and we spoke about it. It was unexpected but this is the Premier League – I learned this last season. Here every game is a battle, but we controlled the game and it was always in our hands.” Said Guardiola
