Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic accepted the standard penalty suspension that was charged to him by the Football Association due to violent conduct.

Mitrovic picked up a three-game ban following an elbow incident with Manuel Lanzini during Newcastle’s 3-0 win over West Ham United.

The FA panel reviewed the incident and it appeared that Lanzini was elbowed in the side of the head by the 22-year-old forward after being caught in the camera.

According to a short statement from the Magpies, “Aleksandar Mitrović will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect after he admitted an FA charge of violent conduct and accepted the standard penalty. The misconduct was not seen by the match officials at the time but caught on video.”

With what happened, The Serbian international will now miss the upcoming Premier League games against Swansea City, Stoke City and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Going back, In May 2016, Mitrovic had a long ban after a late tackle with Kyle Walker in the 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Mitrovic will be back to play again when they face Liverpool F.C. on October.
