Paris Saint-Germain continued their brilliancy, beating the reigning champions Monaco with a 2-1 Ligue 1 victory at the Stade Louis II.

Uruguayan star Edinson Cavani opened the scoring board in the 19th minute of the match with an assist coming from Julian Draxler.

Right now, Cavani has already scored his 16th league goals this season.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian star Neymar doubled the lead for PSG from the penalty spot after he was pulled down by Almamy Toure.

Kylian Mbappe has struggled in his return to Monaco as he failed to convert number of goal opportunities.

On the other end, Monaco was able to reduce the lead to one with Joao Mouthino’s deflected goal in the 81st minute.

PSG coach Unai Emery is satisfied with the victory but admitted that they could have done better if the team was able to improve their finishing.

“We are happy with all three points and to have widened the gap from our rivals in the league table. The teams behind us are strong but we have confidence in what we are capable of. The most important thing is to show the right attitude on the pitch and we are satisfied with our 90 minutes in Monaco. If there is one thing we could have improved, it would have been our finishing. However, the team is doing well and it is very satisfying to see that we can maintain our level of performance.” Emery stated
