Veteran midfielder Wesley Sneijder expresses his intention of playing in a fourth 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Sneijder, who signed contract on a free transfer with Ligue 1 French side club OGC Nice, believes that the club could help him reach that goal with a successful season.
“I’m thinking about playing the World Cup in Russia, that’s obvious. I want to play always on the high level. If I have the chance to go to a World Cup, I have to go for it. It’s important to me, of course, but first we’re going to make a great season with Nice and I really believe in that.” Sneijder said
The 33-year-old Dutch legend was the most capped player in Netherlands’ football team history with 131 national team appearances and was released by Galatasaray S.K. football club after spending almost four seasons in Turkey.
The latest transfer will see him link-up with his former Inter Milan teammate Mario Balotelli, Hatem Ben Arfa, Dante and Younes Belhanda.
