Harbhajan Singh Drops Out From IPL 2020; Here’s Why

Days after Suresh Raina expelled from the IPL 2020 due to personal reasons, his national teammate Harbhajan Singh wants to move in the same direction for Covid-19 crisis in the team. This will come as a huge blow to the Chennai Super Kings faithful, whose 13 members already tested positive for the Coronavirus. Among them, known names like Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj have contacted the disease. Their mandatory quarantine period was also increased to 14 days after their initial 6-day period.

This is considered as the prime reason for Harbhajan’s unwillingness to join the team for the upcoming Indian Premier League season. The tournament is going to be the second major tournament after the CPL, post the pandemic.

It is now staged at UAE because of the growing number of infection cases in India. However, underlying problem still remains in this pandemic situation. The off-spinner once again went on to cite personal reasons as the main reason for him to back out from the tournament. you must see latest update about Sourav Ganguly Makes Mega Claim news at here!

According to the reports in the InsideSport, the legendary spinner was scheduled to land at Dubai on Tuesday. Despite that, the Covid-19 situation in the CSK camp had worrying him and he reconsidered his choice. A source explained, “Harbhajan is due to join the team on Tuesday. But the situation with Chennai Super Kings currently, has left him very worried. He may rejig his schedules or even decide to skip the IPL this year,”

Harbhajan also hadn’t attended the pre-season camp that was organized on August 15 to 20. All of these means that ‘Bhaji’ had not seemed interested to travel to Dubai and risk his health. This is a major setback for the three time winners after their star man Suresh Raina also moved out from his duties.

The vice-captain of the team had to drop out of the competition as well. Though the CSK Social Media handles, handled everything quite well, the impact will surely be seen on the team. Raina and Bhaji are two of their top players and their experience is irreplaceable to say the least.

The left-handed power hitter called his time on his International duties with former captain, MS Dhoni on nation’s Independence Day. But he was in place to play in the IPL. However, he is now in battle with a tragedy where he lost his loved ones in his family. A day after he retired, some men with malicious intentions entered his uncle’s house in Thariyal village. They went on to murder him and leave his cousin and aunt with horrific wounds.

This whole situation was disturbing for the cricketer and he left the CSK camp and returned home. Raina’s cousin breathed last in the hospital with situations for his aunt also getting critical. Therefore, he was forced to leave Dubai to access the injustice done to his family. After some controversy surrounding the same, it was finally put to rest.

However, losing another top player at this point was not what skipper MS Dhoni would have wanted. The former Indian captain retired from international cricket recently, only to focus more on domestic cricket. Dhoni made it clear that the IPL was now going to be his priority, at least for a few years. He will surely be wanting to prove a point and ready to go. These recent happenings do not really help his case, as he would have intended to lift another trophy this season.

This surely now becomes a troubling period for the Chennai Super Kings, who were being considered top contenders to win the tournament once again. They already lost a player like Raina due to personal reasons, whatever those reasons may be at the end of the day.

The situation in the CSK camp has seen its ups and downs. A total of 13 members, including staff, had tested positive recently and were put in a 14-day self-quarantine. Luckily, the other members that were tested were negative. Also, their opening day fixture against the Mumbai Indians was postponed as well, due to the same.

With Covid-19 cases biting them and now Harbhajan pulling out as well, things are going from bad to worse for them.  The IPL is scheduled to start on September 19 but it becomes an early date for ‘Turbanator’ for making a decision. The situation is utterly chaotic.
