ISL Matches: Online Betting Preview

ISL restarts today after one rest day yesterday. For a seemingly non-stop tournament like this, brief rests are important for player recovery and reducing fatigue.

As it stands now, Delhi Dynamos are the clear-cut front-runners. They have two of the stand-out players of this season’s ISL: Florent Malouda and Marcelinho. The team has scored 17 points from 10 games, two more than the second-placed Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City FC. Blasters are a surprise entrant into the top of the points table. The return of the Bangalore City FC stars after the Asian Club Championship duty has clearly boosted the side.

So, what are in store on the ground and on the online betting front in the next three matches?

Chennaiyin FC vs FC Pune City

Chennaiyin FC will be desperately seeking a win at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai, after their shock defeat against Kerala Blasters in their previous match. A win will boost their chances of finishing in the top four. FC Pune City too are in the same boat. Chennaiyin FC seem to have defensive frailties, while the Pune outfit is strong defensively. Chennai have not won any of their previous five matches, while Pune have lost just one of their five matches. Form favours Pune, but Chennai will have the home advantage.

Prediction: This is a do or die situation for Chennai. Expect them to do well on such situations.

FC Goa vs Mumbai City FC

FC Goa are in a far more serious do or die situation tomorrow when they take on Mumbai City FC at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda. They play exciting attacking football. But their poor defence often does them in. Another loss, or even a draw, would put them in a difficult situation. They need all three points from this match to feel more confident about their remaining fixtures. Only good thing for them is that they play three of their next four games at home. Mumbai City FC would prefer to sit back and focus on counter attacks. They would be even comfortable with a draw.

Prediction: For online betting, it is better to back Mumbai City FC as they possess better goal-scorers.

Atlético de Kolkata vs NorthEast United FC

The so-called Eastern derby will take place at Rabindra Sarobar Stadium, Kolkata, on November 17. Both the sides are coming into the match with dismal recent record. ATK have won just one of their last four matches. It looks better only when comparing it to NorthEast’s record in their last four matches. NorthEast United have lost all their four matches preceding this. They need to stop the free fall. They usually struggle against their big brother neighbour. Another loss would put them on the brink of exit.

Prediction: A draw is a better option for online betting, as neither team appears capable to force a decisive result at the moment.
