ISL Matches: Online Betting Preview

Three matches have been over in the Indian Super League (ISL) and it looks like we have seen it all: the exciting counter attacking game between Chennaiyin FC and Atletico de Kolkata; the tactical battle in the so-called Maharashtra derby between Mumbai City FC and FC Pune City; and the outright mediocre football between North East United and Kerala Blasters. In the coming three days, there are more action for enjoyment and online betting.

North East United host the mighty FC Goa; Kerala Blasters play their first game in front of a likely full house against Atletico de Kolkata; and Chennaiyin FC welcome Delhi Dynamos. There are clear-cut favourites for each of these matches. But there are chances of upsets too, which will make online betting on these games much more attractive.

North East United vs FC Goa

The Goan team is the favourites here. They have not lost a single match against the North East. They have won two and drawn two. The Goan team, coached by Zico, has a distinct Brazilian flavor. They are the most consistently attacking team in the ISL. They do leave their defence open when they go up in numbers. However, the North East side does not look to have a good enough attack to exploit those chinks. A good thing for North East United is that FC Goa are a habitual slow starters. It is difficult to keep them on hold when they get going. But it is also difficult for them to hit the ground running from the word go.

Prediction: A draw is highly probable and has good odds at online betting.

Kerala Blasters vs Atletico de Kolkata

Kerala Blasters have everything going for them: crowd support, home advantage and even the weather. Perhaps the only thing in which they come second is likely to matter most: on-field play. Atletico de Kolkata have a better-looking team than the home team. ATK must be counted as favourites. While Blasters played out a lackluster opening game against North East United, ATK came from behind to snatch a last-minute draw against Chennaiyin FC.

There have been five matches between these teams. ATK won five, Blasters won one and one match was drawn.

Prediction: The Kolkata side is likely to emerge victorious, with former Blasters player Ian Hume likely to stun his one-time fans.

Chennaiyin FC vs Delhi Dynamos

Defending champions Chennaiyin FC looked solid in their opening fixture. Delhi Dynamos, playing their first game of the season, will start as underdogs. Usually the matches involving these teams are high-scoring affairs. There have been as many as 14 goals in the four games in which these two teams came face to face. The Chennai side won two of those, Delhi Dynamos won one, while one match ended in draw.

Prediction: Chennaiyin FC will have the upper hand, but Dynamos can be dangerous on their day.
