McCullum Said That James Anderson And Stuart Broad Will Be Playing In The Ashes Next Summer

Anderson and Stuart will participate in the Ashes series

Brendon McCullum, the head coach of the England test team, has announced that the renowned fast bowling tandem of James Anderson and Stuart Broad will participate in the Ashes series during the summer of 2022. Broad and Anderson were not chosen to play for England in the Test series against West Indies because they had previously participated in the Ashes series, which England had lost 0-4 in Australia.

The pacers, on the other hand, were able to restore their spot in the squad when Ben Stokes took over as captain and played well against South Africa, India, and New Zealand. This allowed them to reclaim their status in the team. McCullum, a former captain of New Zealand and England’s current Head Coach of Test also dubbed Broad and Anderson role models for the sport’s future players.

“Yeah, they’ll be here. They each had a grin on their face. How impressive is that? Those guys are very amazing as cricket players. They could quit the game whenever they want, and many would still regard them to be among the all-time greats of the sport. What they are doing is continuing to build on the legacy that they are going to leave for the next generation; it is incredible how much time they give to other individuals in the dressing room. Things that are hidden from view behind the scenes. The amount of time, effort, and faith they’re giving the other players is quite astounding,” It’s really very incredible,” McCullum said.

Since Ben Stokes took over as captain of the red-ball side and Brendon McCullum assumed his role as coach, England has only lost a single test since the change in leadership. This defeat came at the hands of the Proteas in the first match of the series. Their run started out with a win over the current holders of the World Test Championship, New Zealand, by a score of 3-0. After that, they won a one-off test against India, and then they defeated South Africa by a score of 2-1. Ben Stokes, who has guided England to victory in six of their most recent seven Test matches, was singled out for praise by McCullum as well.

“His personal game is wonderful, he is an amazing leader, and he will go through brick walls for the side, as we saw with some of his bowling spells. His leadership abilities are incredible. I had an inkling that he would be a terrific leader, but I had no idea that he would be as excellent as he is in that role,” McCullum remarked.
