Minors below 16 not allowed, PCR tests not needed to see IPL in stadiums

According to COVID-19 regulations released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), minors below 16 are not allowed to enter the Dubai International Cricket Stadium to see the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, adding that fans without PCR test done 48 hours prior to entry into the stands will be allowed to enter, but will need double COVID-19 vaccination proof.
Earlier, the IPL organizers in UAE have opened the doors for fans in the second half of the 14th edition of the cash-rich T20 tournament, with strict COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Fans entering the stadiums must follow all social distancing regulations and wear masks at all times. They have also been asked to download tickets on mobile devices to help in scanning at the gates.
In Sharjah, a vaccination report is also required, and the fans also need to carry PCR test result valid for no more than 48 hours prior to entering the venue. A green status on the Al Hosn app is required. At the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, fans must also carry vaccination proof as well as PCR test results valid no more than 48 hours prior to entering the venue.
Those in the 12-15 age bracket don’t need vaccination proof but must carry PCR test report and those below 12 must be accompanied by adults who are above 21. Wearing masks at all times is compulsory as is maintaining social distance regulations. Organisers will also implement temperature checks upon arrival and most importantly, once fans exit the stadium gate, they cannot re-enter.
In the opening game last weekend, Chennai Super Kings defeated reigning champions Mumbai Indians. At the time the IPL was suspended in May, there were still 31 matches, including the four playoffs, left to be played. In all, 13 matches will be held in Dubai, 10 in Sharjah, and 8 in Abu Dhabi.
According to earlier reports, up to 30 percent fans could be allowed in the three stadiums – Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi – for the IPL Season 14 Phase-2. Before the postponement, Delhi Capitals cemented the top spot of the table with 6 wins from 8 games. They are followed by Chennai Super Kings with 5 wins from 2 games, RCB with 5 wins from 2 games.
