South Africa vs Sri Lanka Second ODI: Cricket Betting Preview

India vs England Third T-20: Cricket Betting Preview

The second ODI of the five-match series between South Africa and Sri Lanka gets underway later tonight in Durban. South Africa won the first ODI of the series. They look the dominant side in the format. Whatever advantage Sri Lanka gained by winning the T-20 series against the second-string South African team seems to have nullified by the arrival of the senior players into the South African eleven. The hosts will be the overwhelming favourites to win for any cricket betting calculations. Sri Lanka will have some chance if the wicket assists spin. It is unlikely to happen in Durban though.

South Africa – Preview

South Africa are in full strength. AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla, Faf du Plessis, David Miller and Quinton de Kock form the batting line-up, while Kangiso Rabada, Imran Tahir and Wayne Parnell comprise the bowling unit. Man for man they are superior to the Sri Lankan team. Tahir and Parnell destroyed the Sri Lankan batting in the first ODI. The young Lankan batsmen need to find some way to tame Rabada and company. South African batsmen will not have much problem in handling the Lankan bowlers, except perhaps for the left-arm wrist spinner Lakshan Sandakan. It means, for cricket betting sake, that South Africa are unlikely to lose.

Sri Lanka – Preview

Nothing seems to be going right for Sri Lanka. Skipper Angelo Mathews has returned to Sri Lanka following an injury. Upul Tharanga, the new captain, has not looked comfortable against the South African quicks. The first thing Sri Lanka need to look for is to post a decent total. Then they can put pressure on South Africa’s batting. Unlike South Africa, Sri Lanka have a brittle top order and a long tail. There is no Angelo Mathews in the middle order to play rescue innings. For Sri Lanka to win, their top order must fire.

Prediction

All the cricket betting roads should lead to one destination: South Africa’s win.
