United To Lure PSG’s Verrati With £79M bid

Marco Verratti

Paris Saint Germain’s (PSG) Marco Verrati is said to be the next in line in Jose Mourinho’s bucket list.

According to the media outfit Corriere dello Sport, Mourinho has allegedly asked Ed Woodward to approach Veratti and offer him a staggering £79M bid in an attempt to signature his signature.

Going after Veratti is yet another shocking move that Mourinho wants to take in order to rebuild Manchester United. This is not the first time that the club has been linked with the big names in the footballing world.

Prior to the above-mentioned midfielder, the Red Devils have been greatly associated with the transfer of Juventus’ Paul Pogba, Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic and of course, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Ibra is said to play a key role in this possible transfer. Reports have it that the talismanic striker allegedly wants Veratti to be at Old Trafford. This is despite the fact that he (Ibrahimovic) is yet to confirm his decision to join his ex-Inter manager.

In spite of the hefty claim, it is said that PSG’s management will do everything to keep the stellar midfielder within their ranks. Veratti is still under contract until 2020.

Veratti started his career at PSG in 2012. He joined the club at £9.5M from Pescara. Since then, he has transformed into one of the team’s crucial figures. He played an important role in propelling the French outfit to the zenith of success, which includes four domestic titles and a French Cup trophy.

Last season, however, Veratti was hit by an injury. But it seems that this does not prevent the United boss from acquiring him.
