The Liverpool forward was dismissed by referee Jon Moss for serious foul play, raising his foot over goalkeeper Ederson during Liverpool’s 5-0 defeat against Manchester City on Saturday, 9 September 2017, at Etihad Stadium.

Brazilian goalkeeper was treated immediately after the incident before he was taken off on a stretcher and wearing an oxygen mask. In the second half of the game, Ederson returned to the bench of Manchester City.

Moving forward, with FA ruling, Mane will miss the game when Liverpool visits Turf Moor to face Burnley. He will also be out in the Carabao Cup and double-header against Leicester City.
